EasyEdit2 can be used to automatically upload files to your Labguru account using a tool called UpFolder.
While there is a specific workflow for uploading files to instrument pages (see this article for more details), the UpFolder can be used for general file uploads.
Follow the instructions below to use the UpFolder or to assign a specific folder on your computer as an UpFolder. Once files are uploaded to the account, they exist within Labguru and can be attached to experiments (see this article for more details).
Using generic UpFolder:
To use the generic UpFolder, open EasyEdit2, in the menu click on Open folder. This will bring you to the EasyEdit2 folder. You will see a folder titled "uploader" this is the generic UpFolder. Any files that are added to this folder will be uploaded to Labguru.
Once the file is uploaded to your Labguru account you will see it in the unattached files. See the notification on the homepage where you can find the files that were uploaded.
Assigning a folder on your computer as an UpFolder:
You can also assign a folder on your desktop as an UpFolder. This is useful if you have your own location or file organization and you want to easily upload files to Labguru without having to use the uploader folder.
To assign a folder on your desktop as an UpFolder first open EasyEdit2. In the app menu select UpFolder Manager. Then to assign a folder on your computer, click Add UpFolder.
Once you select Add UpFolder, you will be directed to your computer file directory. Select the folder you wish to have connected and then click Choose. This folder will now by linked as an UpFolder and files that are added to it will be uploaded to Labguru. You can link many folders as an UpFolder to fit the needs of your work.
To view and manage an UpFolder that you currently have connected click UpFolder Manager, then click on UpFolder list. This will bring you to a list of all the folders that are currently configured. To remove a folder from the list, select the folder name then click remove.
Once you click remove, you will get a notification indicating the folder has been disconnected and is no longer an UpFolder.
