In this article will go over the flow that will allow you to get the most out of your new Labguru account in 5 simple steps.

1. Setting Up Your Workspace

The first step involves creating an account and inviting teammates. Each teammate needs to be assigned a role from-which they will be granted permissions throughout the account.

2. Organizing Storage

Once you have your account and users - you can start mapping out your lab. Labguru enables detailed mapping of physical storage locations - from rooms and freezers to individual tubes. Once you define these spaces - you can then assign stocks accordingly.

3. Managing Inventory

The inventory module helps organize samples and reagents. Activate built in collection or create your own. From there you can upload items into that category, and link them to protocols and experiments for traceability. Also - take this time to add your equipment and list where it's located

4. Setting Up Your ELN (Electronic Lab Notebook)

Projects form the backbone of Labguru’s ELN. They help structure research by grouping related experiments and the samples used. You can also utilize Gantt charts to monitor project timelines and progress.

When documenting the work you do - you can start from a predefined protocol or create your own custom protocol. Each experiment can include structured sections, linked inventory items, and embedded data sets for comparative analysis. Learn how to create the perfect experiment for your needs here.
