Tagging helps you find the information you need by grouping pages from different modules or filtering index pages, making the navigation in Labguru faster and easier.

Labguru index pages are likely to be filled with overwhelming information that makes hards to see all in one single page. Tagging items makes the search easier and organize in one place all items needed for an specific aspect of your research.

For examples:

In collection and stock pages, the tags appear at the top of the page under the title:

In papers, attachments and image bank you will see the tags in the top right corner of the page:

Group pages from different modules together.

Different types of pages can have meaningful scientific connection.
Link them together and jump from one page to the other in on click. But to be even more efficient, group them together in one list using the same tag. Tagging pages will help you categorize your data, grouping them together enabling you to view all in one place.

To view all the tags --> Your Lab's name menu -->Select 'Tags' --> the Tags index page opens to see all the tags ordered alphabetically.

On that page it also possible to merge tags to eliminate duplicates, just choose 2 tags and you will see a merge option.

But how do I tag?

1. Each item page has a Tag window on the right-hand side of the page. You can see existing tags and add new ones.

2. If it is a new tag - type its name in -> click enter
3. If the tag you want to use already exists just type: type 2-3 letters so the system will suggest a list of the tag to choose.
4. Click 'Save'.

To un-tag a page just delete the tag from the page using the X next to the tag name.

You can also delete the tag entirely from the account which will also remove it from all the pages.
