Labguru's 'Local edit' tool changes the way files are edited and documented in Labguru.

With this tool, all types of files can be opened directly from Labguru, given that the relevant software for opening them installed on your computer 

The ability to open and edit files from Labguru makes it extremely easy to work on experimental data while keeping it organized in Labguru. No need to go back and forth between programs, which makes the process seamless and more efficient.

To use the ‘Local Edit’ feature you will first need to download the ‘EasyEdit2’ app and open it on your computer.

The app’s flask icon will appear on your computer’s toolbar, and a new Labguru tab will open.

Please note that EasyEdit2 will only work with your default browser.

For any attachment in Labguru you can click on the small arrow on the right side to get to its dropdown menu. There, you can click on the ‘Local edit’ option to edit the files directly from Labguru.

All changes that were made while editing will be automatically saved in Labguru.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you only have one file open for editing. Editing several files at the same time might result in data loss.

How can I start?

When you click local edit and the app is not running on your device you will get the download app prompt, download the latest version from there.

For private domains:

If your company/institute uses a private domain to run Labguru, set the correct URL by choosing 'Change Host' from the app's dropdown menu. 

Copy and paste the URL of your lab's landing page to the popup that opens when clicking the 'Change Host' button.
