Creating an experiment with a tried and true structure ensures consistency and standardization.

Labguru's new "Lock format" feature enables you to define a protocol format as locked, allowing you to record information and data on the experiment page while maintaining the original format set up in the protocol.

The new "Lock format" and "Unlock format" button facilitate protocol formatting:

Experiments derived from "Locked format" protocols will retain the original protocol's structure (sections and elements) and maintain data entry availability. Creating, moving, renaming, or deleting sections and elements will not be possible.

Elements created in the protocol may always be edited. For example: a Sample and reagents element placed in a section will allow the selection of specific inventory items and stocks. An Attachments element will allow users to add files to page as well as download and edit them, etc.

The formatting state will be displayed under experiment title, as shown below:

Note: Experiments created by duplicating locked format experiments will not inherit the locked formatting. Similarly, if a locked format protocol is added to an existing experiment, the added sections will not be locked format sections.

Locked format capabilities are available as part of the GxP extension package.
