โ€‹Ensuring consistency and standardization, the construction of an experiment using a proven structure is paramount.

Labguru introduces the innovative "Lock format" feature, empowering users to designate a protocol format as locked. This functionality preserves the original protocol's format while allowing for the recording of information and data on the experiment page.

The inclusion of "Lock format" and "Unlock format" buttons streamlines protocol formatting:

Experiments derived from "Locked format" protocols maintain the structure (sections and elements) of the original protocol and uphold data entry accessibility. Modifications such as creating, relocating, renaming, or deleting sections and elements are restricted.

Elements generated within the protocol remain editable. For instance, a "Sample and reagents" element within a section permits the selection of specific inventory items and stocks, while an "Attachments" element enables users to add, download, and edit files on the page.

The formatting status is prominently indicated beneath the experiment title, as illustrated below:

Note: Duplicating locked format experiments does not inherit the locked formatting. Likewise, adding a locked format protocol to an existing experiment does not convert the added sections into locked format sections.
