Accessing the Assistant
Prerequisites for Enabling the Assistant
Look for the Assistant icon in your Labguru interface:
Located at the top-right of any Labguru screen
Appears as an AI icon
Click the icon to open the Assistant panel
The panel will slide open from the right side
If the interaction is disabled, the account owner can enable it by logging into the Admin account, navigating to Account Settings, and activating the feature under the feature management section, provided it is available for the environment.
Once enabled the Assistant is available to all account users for 10 free queries per day (+10 bonus for providing feedback) It is recommended to periodically check the Account Settings page for any updates or controls related to the feature, as its availability may depend on environment readiness and permissions.
Your First Interaction
Step 1: Start Simple
Begin with a straightforward question to test the Assistant:
"What experiments did I run last week?"
"Show me my inventory of antibodies"
"Help me calculate molarity for a 5M solution"
Step 2: Review the Response
The Assistant will process your request and provide an answer
Responses may include links to relevant Labguru items
You can ask follow-up questions for clarification
Step 3: Try Different Query Types
Explore the Assistant's capabilities:
Find items: "Where is the pUC19 plasmid stored?"
Get summaries: "Summarize this experiment" (you need to be on the experiment page)
Ask for help: "How do I design a primer?"
Quick Tips for Success
β Be specific - Include relevant details like dates, sample names, or experiment types
β Use natural language - Write as if you're asking a colleague
β Start broad, then narrow - Begin with general questions before getting specific
β Check important results - Always verify critical calculations or data
